February 19, 2015 — Milwaukee — Progressive Railroading’s Secure Rail Conference – the first to address North American rail security from an organizational perspective – premiered February 3-4, at the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista in Orlando. The inaugural event featured educational content focused on protecting rail passengers, technologies and assets from man-made and natural threats.
“Between the amazing presenters, the insightful education and high-energy networking we had everything needed to produce a great conference,” says Kirk Bastyr, Publisher of Progressive Railroading. “Positive feedback from attendees, exhibitors and presenters confirmed we did just that.”
One of those presenters was Alex Wiggins, Vice President, Security Solutions,Transit Safety & Security Solutions, Inc., who facilitated the “Best Practices for Transit Security” session.
“A number of professional contacts were made at Secure Rail,” says Wiggins. “It was invaluable to connect with both the speakers and attendees who are leaders in their field.”
Secure Rail also included numerous networking opportunities, lunch functions, an opening night reception and a Product Showcase with leading industry suppliers and enthusiastic sponsors.
“We were extremely impressed with the execution of the conference, from the caliber of the speakers, attendees and panels to the quality of the content presented, and were truly grateful to be a part of the program,” says Felix W. Krupczynski, Executive Vice President & General Manager at Duos Technologies, Inc., Secure Rail’s Platinum sponsor. “The relevance and importance of security in rail warrants the ability to provide greater awareness of the technologies and options that help us secure this critical infrastructure. Secure Rail has succeeded in providing a great step in this direction.
“We are already preparing and looking forward to making this conference a part of our planning for next year.”
Dates for Secure Rail 2016 will be communicated in the coming weeks. The official website for the conference is SecureRailConference.com.
