Come see the new standard in performance:
TX16 Tamper
The TX16 Production and Switch Tamper is the latest addition to Harsco Rail's suite of maintenance of way equipment, setting a new standard in performance, uptime, and cost of ownership. Increased productivity from start-up to shut down — TX16 speeds up every aspect of the work day, safely.
The TX16's forward mounted cab provides best-in-class switch tamping visibility and unobstructed views for travel. Additionally, the reference system can be fully deployed and stowed from the cab, enabling operators to remain safely in the cab and significantly reducing setup and shutdown time. It also includes Callisto ProTamp, a demonstrated, inertial-based non-contact measurement system that records track geometry data at speeds up to 30mph.
The TX16's hybrid index tamping cycle blends traditional indexing and continuous action to significantly increase productivity. Developed based on Harsco's experience with indexing tampers, such as the MKIV and 6700, and continuous action tampers, like the Drone and 32 Tool Tamper, the hybrid index tamping cycle is high production in any ballast condition. Cycle completion is predicted, based on prior tamped ties, and launches the machine to the next tie prior to finishing the tamping cycle. This cuts the time to index to the next tie in half - 30-40% faster production rates can be achieved on a simple, truckable machine platform.
Faster production rates are also supported by TX16's automated tamping cycle for plainline, enabled by field-demonstrated tie-finding technology. Tie finder enables the tamper to locate ties with minimal operator input. The operator is only required to adjust the best fit curve for correcting track.
As with most of Harsco Rail equipment, each TX16 is equipped with Harsco Rail's Jupiter II Control onboard diagnostics system.
The TX16 leverages Harsco Rail's multi-generational product, technology, and service experience — safely delivering high production and accurate track correction within a reliable and versatile tamper.
