For a media company, undergoing a third-party audit is essential to proving credibility and transparency to advertisers and partners. Independent verification confirms that circulation, audience metrics, and engagement data are accurate rather than self-reported, giving buyers like you confidence your investments reach real people. Audits also demonstrate adherence to recognized industry standards for business practices, brand safety, and ethical journalism. In a marketplace where trust directly influences revenue, third-party validation helps a media organization stand apart and build long-term relationships grounded in accountability.
Progressive Railroading is the industry's only third-party audited media outlet. We've got nothing to hide. You know who receiving our book and seeing your ad. You can see for yourself here.

Cover story: CN’s capex approach in a year of uncertainty
This past fall, CN announced it would be budgeting $2.8 billion for capital expenditures in 2026, which is $600 million less than the railroad’s 2025 capex plan. CEO Tracy Robinson said the reduction is possible due to the Class I’s existing strong capacity from prior years’ investments in rolling stock and infrastructure upgrades.
The tightened capex plan also underscores how CN will focus on being fiscally efficient and flexible in the new year, as the Class I prepares for what it predicts will be another year of economic uncertainty.
Associate Editor Bridget Dean talks with CN officials about the railroad’s key capital projects for 2026 and what prior capacity upgrades allowed for the reduced capex plan. The article will also detail CN’s commitment to operational flexibility and efficiency through scheduled railroading.
