In 2026, we will honor women who are making an impact across four key categories: Leadership, Innovation, Technology and Sustainability. Below is a breakdown of each category to help explain what they represent.

Leadership
Demonstrates a bold, future-focused vision that aligns people and priorities for long-term success. Cultivates a supportive, high-performing culture and makes effective, timely decisions—even under pressure.

Drives progress through creative thinking and transformative ideas. Develops new approaches that improve operations and elevate the rail industry as a whole.

Technology
Leads the creation and implementation of forward-thinking technologies that drive major improvements in rail safety, efficiency and performance. Provides strategic vision and expertise to influence the industry’s future.

Sustainability
Champions initiatives that reduce environmental impact—improving fuel efficiency, advancing electrification and minimizing waste to build a more sustainable future for rail.

Those recognized will be in the Progressive Railroading magazine as well as an interactive virtual event taking place next Spring. Nominations are due no later than November 30, 2025.
