Fifty years later, the railroad is pursuing plans to modernize and upgrade its fleet to include new trainsets for the Midwest and high speed rail trains for the Northeast Corridor; rebuild century-old rail tunnels and other infrastructure; and expand service by building new or improved rail corridors in over 25 states.
