Special Advertising Section: State-of-the-art-Facilities
Has your company recently revamped its warehouse, installed a new customer education center or expanded a manufacturing plant? This special advertising section highlights rail companies that have invested in new facilities to better serve their customers.

Cover Story: The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority Preps for Growth
Like many cities in the southeastern United States, Atlanta is expected to experience steady population growth in the coming years. To accommodate transportation needs both now and in the future, the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) is pushing a plan to significantly expand its rail and bus network.

In November, residents will get a chance to vote on a half-cent sales tax measure to fund those expansions. How do MARTA execs plan on making the case for the new tax? Four years ago, voters rejected a similar sales tax measure — why is this one any different? Will the expansions finally solve the system's first- and last-mile connectivity problem? And what's the agency's plan for taking care of its existing infrastructure?

For answers, Associate Editor Dan Niepow travels to Atlanta to talk with MARTA General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Keith Parker. He'll also chat with elected officials and leaders in the local business community to hear their respective takes on MARTA expansions.

Mechanical: Fleet Stats 2016
Our annual compendium of rail-car and locomotive statistics, Fleet Stats 2016 features an array of Association of American Railroads' facts and figures, including selected car fleet data, freight-car installations, the fleet by car type and age, locomotives acquired and rebuilt, and more. Fleet Stats 2016 also includes rail-car market context from consultant Richard Kloster.

Product Roundup: Material Handling Equipment
A sampling of suppliers provide information on their material handling equipment and service offerings.
